Pasquale,
originally from Lake Como, came to Monterosso
where he met and married Fortunata,
the young, beautiful daughter of one of the town's
leading fishermen, and together they took over
the management of "Osteria Rodi”, which
became “Da Pasquale”.
In
the late '50s they were finally able to buy their
own osteria: the optimism of the times was so
great that in the 1960s they began to think about
building a hotel.
In
1963, Pasquale and Fortunata obtained their building
permit, and in record time, "Albergo
Pasquale" was constructed on land
next to the osteria, in one of the town's loveliest
locations.
Later
on, the family also acquired Hotel Villa
Steno.
